Jones State Farm Agency offers a portfolio of solutions to mitigate risk, including personal lines—auto, home, life, health, personal property, retirement plans, mortgage, vehicle loans, banking, disability insurance and renters – and business insurance, commercial liability, commercial auto and business life.
As an adolescent growing up in Rockville, Sunday mornings were spent with his parents at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Consumed with athletics, Victor was a triple-letter winner in football, basketball and baseball while attending Parkland Middle School and Robert E. Peary High School. His performance on the football field and in the classroom earned him an athletic scholarship to play NCAA football at Virginia Tech from 1984-1988.
Guided by parents, Walter and Maxine Jones taught Victor important of “never give up,” and “be true to who you are”. Both parents found success and happiness in their work: Walter worked for American Society of Hospital and Pharmacy in Bethesda, Md. for 30 years, and Maxine was an entrepreneur, running Maxine’s Beauty Salon in Rockville for 30+ years.
Professional career highlights
In 1988, Victor made the NFL draft and was selected by Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After one season with Tampa Bay, he was traded to the Detroit Lions where he played alongside Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders. In 1993, Victor, who continued his studies at Virginia Tech during the NFL off-seasons, received his Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Information Resources Management.
After playing seven years in the NFL, Victor honed his sales and customer service skills as a pharmaceutical account executive. Later, he pursued entrepreneurial endeavors as an owner of a bridal salon, residential care retirement community, spa franchise and a manufacturing business.
Driven by a sense of purpose and a desire to empower others, in 2013 Jones became a State Farm Agency Recruiter, bringing entrepreneurial opportunities to industrious individuals with a calling to serve. Impressed by the stability of the agency business model, Victor soon decided to take a leap of faith and open his own agency. He jumped at an agency opportunity in Rockville, Md., which would allow him to help his family and friends manage the risks associated with everyday life.
